Company Setup / Company information
To use Med-Stop you have to setup your company information in the system. This includes the basic company name and address information as well as setting up the company contacts and Med-Stop options.
It is very important to keep your company information in the Med-Stop system up to date.
You company can be set to ACTIVE or NOT ACTIVE status. The ACTIVE status is a default, operational status which means that the company is conducting it's normal business operations, and the employees are performing their duties. You can create new applicants, manage employees, and see the test results, etc. When, for some reason your company ceases the operations, set your company status to NOT ACTIVE - this will still give you full to the company data but you will not be able to create or update most of the information stored in the system.
DOT or non-DOT regulated company
The profile of the company and the Med-Stop system is highly determined by the fact if the company is DOT regulated or not.
Your employees are regulated by the DOT if your company's vehicles have a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds, are designed to transport 16 or more passengers (including the driver), or are used to transport hazardous materials that require placarding under the FMCSA's Hazardous Materials Regulations.
