Company Information
Setting up and maintaining your company’s profile in the Med-Stop system is essential for accurate recordkeeping, compliance, and seamless use of the platform.
Getting Started
To begin using Med-Stop, you must first enter your company's basic information, including:
- Company name and address
- Key contacts
- System preferences and Med-Stop-specific options
✅ It is important to keep this information up to date to ensure uninterrupted service and regulatory compliance.
Company Status
Your company can hold one of two statuses in the system:
ACTIVE:
This is the default status and indicates that your company is conducting regular business operations. While in ACTIVE status, you can:
- Add new applicants
- Manage employee records
- Access and review test results
NOT ACTIVE:
This status should be selected when the company temporarily or permanently suspends operations. You will still have full access to existing company data but cannot create or modify most records.
DOT vs. Non-DOT Regulated Company
The functionality available in Med-Stop varies depending on whether your company is regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
A company is considered DOT-regulated if its vehicles:
- Have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more
- Are designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver
- Are used to transport hazardous materials that require placarding under FMCSA Hazardous Materials Regulations
If your company does not meet these criteria, it is classified as Non-DOT regulated.
