Random Selection Service / Med-Stop Random Service Activation Wizard
Setting Up the Random Selection Service
During the setup process, you must specify the following options to configure the Med-Stop Random Selection Service.
Activate the Random Selection Service for a Specific Test Type and DOT Status
You can activate the service for a specific test type or for all test types.
Select YES to activate the service for a particular test type and DOT status.
Automatically Create DOT Pools
For DOT-regulated random selection, pools can be created automatically—both at the time of service activation and at the beginning of each new year.
Set this option to YES to allow the Med-Stop Random Service to create new pools using default settings and the DOT-specified target percentage.
If this option is set to NO, you are responsible for manually creating random selection pools. In this case, you must set up a pool for each test type using the New Random Pool function.
If your company plans to conduct more random tests than required by the DOT, or to use a higher target selection percentage than the DOT standard, set this option to NO and manually configure the pools with your desired target percentage.
Automatically Update Pool Members
This option determines whether the system automatically includes all eligible employees in the random selection pool.
Set this option to YES to keep the pool member list synchronized with your company’s employee list.
Set this option to NO if you prefer to manage pool membership manually. In this case, you must add eligible employees to the pool and remove employees who are no longer available for testing.
Default Selection Frequency
Specify how often random selections should be conducted.
For DOT-regulated pools, it is strongly recommended to select Quarterly, Bi-monthly, or Monthly selection periods.
These options help account for changes in employee or pool size, ensure a consistent number of tests per selection period, and distribute testing evenly throughout the calendar year.
Include Employees with Specific Status
When the pool member list is automatically synchronized with your company’s employee list, you can further define which employment statuses qualify an employee for inclusion in the pool.
By default, all active employees are included in the pool.
Agreement Requirement
When activating the Med-Stop Random Service, you must agree to the Med-Stop Random Service Terms and Conditions.
Please print the agreement and fax the signed copy to Med-Stop. Do not include a cover page.
